Wednesday night there was a wedding in high life in this city, and it was kept so sly that the friends of the parties knew nothing of it until a late hour. They were not disposed to suffer in silence, so each one of them procured a musical instrument, and in addition hired a Chinese band. They stationed themselves in front of the Grand Central, where the happy couple had engaged rooms, and turned themselves loose. Never before in the history of the world was there such discordant sounds heard. Ike Baird the proprietor, ran out in his nightie and yelled police, police, but it was like whispering to a hurricane, he could not have heard his own voice. Exhausted nature soon vindicated herself, and the boys took a drink and retired. Baird, Ike. Grand Central. Black Hills Daily Times November 9, 1883, p. 3, col. 3.
Oro Fino. This property, in Strawberry gulch, is, so far as development is concerned one of the most promising locations in the Hills, and in the years to come will become as celebrated as some we could name that make greater pretensions. A shaft has recently been sunk on the edge of the ledge to a depth of 85 feet below any previous workings, that shows up good ore all the way. The management were unfortunate in not attending to the payment of their county taxes, as by so doing they have some little trouble and vexation. Their last retort, amounting to $1535, was in the bank here, when County Treasurer Baird attached it for delinquent taxes yesterday. We understand this company have made money over and above expenses since the day the mill first started. Baird. Oro Fino Mine. Strawberry Gulch. Black Hills Daily Times November 16, 1883, p. 3, col. 5.

Death. Carroll--In this city, at the residence of Mr. W.M. Baird, Reverend Henry G. Carroll, aged 61 years, of Bright's disease of the kidneys. Caroll, Henry G. Baird, W.M. Black Hills Daily Times November 27, 1883, p. 3, col. 4.
John Baird has been confined to his bed in Spearfish for five days with hemorrhage of the lungs. His brother William heard of it fro the first time last evening and hastened out there to attend him. Baird, John. Baird, William. Spearfish. Black Hills Daily Times December 19, 1883, p. 3, col. 2.
William Baird returned from Spearfish yesterday evening. He found his brother John somewhat better, but not entirely recovered from his hemorrhage of the lungs. Johnny will take a trip south as soon as he recovers sufficiently. Baird, William. Baird, John. Spearfish. Black Hills Daily Times December 20, 1883, p. 3, col. 3.
Time was misinformed, we are pleased to state, when we stated that Johnny Baird was suffering from hemorrhage of the lungs. He was quite poorly, but is rapidly recovering. Baird, Johnny. Black Hills Daily Times December 21, 1883, p. 3, col. 2.
