There was trouble at the Joss house yesterday, and for a time it seemed that there might be some fun for the outside barbarians. A half dozen Mandarins, armed with long knives, faced each other, and cursed in Chinese. A crowd was attracted when they went in and locked the doors, and could then only be heard.
